Beloved Highlife veteran Kwadwo Akwaboah Snr has passed away.
The news was broken by his son and recent collaborator Akwaboah Jr, today, Tuesday, May 16, 2023.
On his social media timelines, Akwaboah Jr simply wrote: “RIP Daddy.”
He attached a portrait of his father and a weeping emoji.
The ‘Obiaa’ hitmaker did not disclose the cause of his father’s death.
Akwaboah Snr had classics such as Hini Me and Awerekyekyere.
It is reported, the singer-songwriter and record producer passed away at the Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi, Ashanti Region.
Celebrities such as Kinaata, Adina Thembi, Kalybos, Abeiku Santana, etc, have shared their condolences with Akwaboah Jr, under his Instagram (IG) post announcing his father’s demise.
On Wednesday, January 1, 2020, Akwaboah Snr and Jnr released to digital stores a remix of the Awerekyekyere megahit.
