The Ahafo Regional Fire Service team emerged victorious at the 2025 May Day Games organized by the National Sports Authority (NSA) in celebration of Workers’ Day. The event, which drew various security agencies and institutions across the region, was held at the Goaso AstroTurf under the theme of unity, health, and teamwork among workers.
At the climax of the well-attended sporting event, the Ahafo Regional NSA Director, Fetus Boffah, presented medals and a prestigious trophy to the Ahafo Fire Service team for their exceptional performance and dedication throughout the competition. The Fire Service team dominated several sporting disciplines, earning them the overall best team award.

Boffah, in his remarks, commended the Fire Service personnel for their discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship. He emphasized the importance of such events in promoting camaraderie, physical fitness, and collaboration among government agencies. “Sport is a vital tool for building team spirit and maintaining physical and mental well-being. I congratulate the Fire Service for their outstanding display,” he stated.
The May Day Games featured various sporting activities including football, volleyball, athletics, and tug of war, with participation from the Ghana Police Service, Immigration Service, Ghana Health Service, and other public institutions.
The Ahafo Fire Service team expressed gratitude for the recognition and pledged to continue combining their commitment to duty with active participation in regional events. The celebration ended with cheers and solidarity songs, as workers across the region embraced the spirit of unity and excellence.
