Former Ahafo Regional Organizer for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and 2024 Asunafo North Constituency Parliamentary Aspirant, Mr. Alfred Asiedu, popularly known as Nana Adu, has issued a clarion call to polling station executives across the region. In a recent interview with Genesis Radio, Mr. Asiedu urged these executives to intensify their campaign efforts ahead of the 2024 general elections.

Mr. Asiedu’s remarks were direct and uncompromising. He stated that any polling station executive who has not yet completed the first round of house-to-house campaigning should be ashamed. “If you’re not done with the first round and about to start the second, you have no reason to be proud of your position,” he asserted. His words serve as a stark reminder of the critical role that grassroots campaigning plays in securing electoral victories.

The call to action comes on the heels of a recent Global Info Analytics poll, which suggested that former President John Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) are likely to win the 2024 election in the Ahafo Region. Mr. Asiedu, however, believes that the polling station executives should not be discouraged by these findings but rather use them as motivation to double their efforts. He emphasized that the time to act is now, and waiting for directives or resources from Constituency, Regional, or National Executives is no longer an option.

Drawing from his own experience, Mr. Asiedu reflected on his journey as a parliamentary aspirant. Despite not winning his election, he remains an active and dedicated member of the NPP, committed to canvassing for votes. He urged party members to move past any grievances and unite under the common goal of “breaking the eight,” a reference to the NPP’s aim to win a third consecutive term in office.

In a bid to inspire confidence, Mr. Asiedu pointed out that the same research indicating an NDC lead also shows that floating voters in the Ahafo Region favor the NPP’s flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. He believes that with a concerted effort to mobilize the party base, the NPP can not only win the region but also secure all six parliamentary seats.

As the 2024 elections approach, Mr. Asiedu’s message is clear: the time for complacency is over. Polling station executives must rise to the occasion, engage with voters, and ensure that the NPP’s message resonates across every corner of the Ahafo Region.
