Ghana’s reigning Sports Journalist of the Year, Juliet Bawuah, has moderated a panel of leading figures in sport at the World Football Summit held recently in Saudi Arabia.
Moderating the session on “Level the playing field: Tapping fan-engagement based partnerships in the Middle East & Africa region”, she hosted Cristoph Winterling (Bologna FC), Hasan Ekamah from the Confederation of African Football, Mounir Zok of N3XT Sports and Denise Menasan of Neilsen Sports.
Bawuah held her own, leading the panel to bring their varied experiences and thoughts to bear on the subject. The session was graced by other leading names in sport, who had joined thousands of others from 12-13 December for the Summit
After the Summit, Bawuah recounted her journey to finally getting to moderate at the WFS.
“Three years in the making. Finally got to moderate at the World Football Summit. After COVID disrupted my first invitation to be a moderator, and missing out on the last one due to clash of schedules (World Cup period), I eventually got the chance to sit on a panel of distinguished persons in sport – reps from CAF, Bologna FC, the well-respected Nielsen Sports and N3XT Sports.,” she posted on her Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/JulietBawuahofficial).
She added: “Congrats to the WFS leadership on a successful event in Saudi Arabia. As Founder of the Africa Women’s Sports Summit, there are key learnings from this, which I am taking with me.
Takeaway? There are no limits to what you can achieve and do.”
Respected globally, the WFS says it seeks to actively shape the football the world needs, uniting with a global community of industry professionals in a relentless drive toward a more sustainable and top-tier football landscape.
