Mr. Moses Antwi, popularly known as Nana Moses, expresses his heartfelt appreciation to Catholic Relief Services (CRS) for their monumental support in providing 11 boreholes to the Ahafo Region and 8 boreholes to the Bono Region. This transformative initiative addresses a long-standing challenge of water accessibility in underserved communities, ensuring clean and safe water for thousands of residents.
The communities in the Berekum West District in the Bono Region that have benefited from this project include Botokrom School, Diawuokrom, Asifkrom, and Kwame Barima Krom. Meanwhile, in the Ahafo Region, boreholes have been completed in the Asunafo South District, serving communities such as Tettehkrom, Mamponteng, Berkyekrom, and Aboaboaso, as well as the Tano North District, which includes Onwe, Bomaamu, Gambia, Sofokrom, Issifukrom, Dwrirkrom, and Tanoso MA Basic School.
Plans are also underway to deliver four boreholes to communities in the Jaman North District once curfew restrictions are lifted.
Speaking on this remarkable achievement, Nana Moses stated, “I am immensely grateful to CRS for their unprecedented decision to expand their operations beyond their traditional regions to the Bono and Ahafo areas. Their generous commitment has brought hope and relief to communities that have struggled for years without access to safe drinking water.”
He continued, “The collaboration with CRS began in 2022, inspired by my visit to several communities facing dire water challenges. It was my hope to bring sustainable solutions to these regions, and CRS’s willingness to support this cause has been truly life-changing. Their efforts have not only provided clean water but have also improved the health, education, and livelihoods of countless people.”
This project marks CRS’s first-ever expansion into the Bono and Ahafo Regions, a milestone made possible through the unwavering advocacy of Nana Moses. His vision to address basic needs in these communities has fostered a meaningful partnership that will leave a lasting impact for generations.
“I extend my deepest thanks to CRS and their entire team for their dedication and hard work in seeing this project through. Together, we are changing lives and creating brighter futures for our people,” Nana Moses added.
