Hon. Robert Sarfo Mensah (Booba) Calls for an End to Public Disputes Between Mr. Adomako Baafi and Hon. Evans Bobie Opoku
Goaso, Ghana ā February 4, 2025 ā Former Member of Parliament for Asunafo North, Hon. Robert Sarfo Mensah (Booba), has issued a strong call for peace, unity, and an immediate end to the ongoing public exchanges between Mr. Adomako Baafi and Hon. Evans Bobie Opoku. He urged both gentlemen to cease further public confrontations and handle their differences in a more dignified and party-centered manner.
Addressing the situation following Mr. Adomako Baafiās verbal attack on Hon. Bobie Opoku during an interview on Success FM and Nananom FM, Hon. Booba emphasized the importance of maintaining decorum, especially among senior figures within the New Patriotic Party (NPP). While condemning Mr. Adomako Baafiās initial remarks, he also expressed disappointment in Hon. Bobie Opokuās response on Success FM, stating that it only escalated tensions rather than fostering peace.
Hon. Booba stressed that both men have played critical roles in the partyās growth, and as such, any grievances should be addressed internally, rather than through public exchanges that could harm the partyās unity and public image.
Reflecting on the NPPās performance in the 2024 general elections, Hon. Booba cautioned against internal conflicts and blame-shifting. He urged all party members and supporters to prioritize unity, focus on rebuilding, and work collectively towards a robust strategy for a strong comeback in the 2028 elections.
Furthermore, he called on media houses to uphold professionalism by discouraging personal attacks and sensationalism. He emphasized that the media should serve as a platform for constructive discourse rather than a battleground for internal disputes.
āIt is imperative that we put an end to these public confrontations immediately. The NPP is built on principles of discipline and unity, and we must all rise above personal grievances to work towards a common goal. Our focus should be on strengthening the party, not tearing each other down in the media,ā Hon. Booba stated.
To ensure a swift resolution, Hon. Booba called on the Regional Party Leadership and the Council of Elders to intervene in the matter. He urged them to engage both parties and facilitate a private resolution that upholds the integrity and unity of the NPP.
He reiterated his commitment to fostering harmony within the party and urged all stakeholders to put the partyās interests above personal differences.
