Try God TV, the popular Ghanaian YouTube channel, has released the trailer for its latest movie, Akakalito. The trailer, which premiered on April 9, 2023, Easter Sunday, has already generated over 6,000 views within three hours of its release, signaling the high anticipation from fans and viewers ahead of the movie’s official launch.

Produced by Nafaako Multimedia, owned by Fred Nana Agyemang, popularly known in showbiz circles as Kyinkyinatwan, and directed by Richard N. Appiah, also known as Vision, Akakalito promises to be a hit amongst viewers. The film was shot on location in a remote village in the Asante Region of Ghana, with Prince Adu handling the props, set, and location design.

Notably, Akakalito is a remake of Mel Gibson’s Apocalypto and features popular Ghanaian actors such as Dr. Likee, also known as Akabenezer, Kyekyeku, 39/40, Fakye, Momaa, Jordan, and a host of new discoveries. Set in prehistoric civilization, the movie showcases a primitive society’s struggles with life, family, leadership, and spirituality in the face of barbaric acts, black magic, and sacrifices.

The film was exclusively produced for Try God TV, owned by Kyinkyinatwan, who has been instrumental in the growth of Ghana’s YouTube community. Over the years, creators in Ghana have been churning out various skits and movies to entertain and inform audiences both within and outside the country. Most of these productions are in local dialects such as Twi, Fante, Hausa, and Ga.

Akakalito promises to be a visually stunning and entertaining movie that will keep viewers glued to their screens. As the launch date draws near, fans and viewers can hardly wait to see the full story unfold on Try God TV.
