Black Sherif Wins Hip Hop Act Of The Year At Soundcity MVP Awards In Nigeria. Mohammed Ismail Sherif Kwaku Frimpong known professionally as Blacko or Black Sherif has been crowned the best Hip Hop artiste at the just-ended Soundcity MVP awards held in Nigeria.
The celebrated Ghanaian artiste, Black Sherif, won the award ahead of South African MCees Nasty C and AKA, Kenyan Rpper Kaligraph Jones, and Nigerian rapper Ladipoe.
According to a report by Myjoyonline.com, Black Sherif won the category with his popular hit “Kwaku The Traveller”
Blacko was on stage to receive his award at the event held at Eko Convention Center in Lagos in Nigeria on February 11, 2023, and took the opportunity to express gratitude for the enormous support he has received.
Black Sherif, despite being 21 and only two years in active music, has become a household name in the music fraternity in Africa and beyond.
The young Ghanaian music star released his debut Album in 2022 “The Villain I Never was” which garnered streams and debuted on the Billboard world Album charts. The Album consisted of a blend of Highlife, reggae, and Hip Hop sounds.
In 2022, Black Sherif achieved musical success which include headlining hi the first concert in London. He was also nominated in the BET Hip Hop awards in the best International flow category.
