Ghanaian actress and television personality, Nana Ama McBrown, has opened up about her challenging upbringing and her relationship with her father in a recent interview.
McBrown, who is renowned for her captivating on-screen performances, revealed that she initially lived with her mother before moving in with her aunt and grandmother. Despite facing difficulties, she has become one of Ghana’s most successful actresses.
“To be honest, I came from zero, I came from grass to grace,” she said. “Being a nurse is okay, but I am sure most nurses will love to be in my position or nurse in my hometown, Asuom. I’ll earn a salary, so I won’t change who I am for anything.”
She also spoke about her relationship with her father, whom she did not meet until later in life. “I did not have my dad till I grew up but my dad is there. We’ve reconciled and solved that problem. I don’t want to hurt him,” she said. Despite their past issues, McBrown visits her father every two months to catch up with him.
McBrown’s story is one of perseverance and hard work, as she has achieved success with very little formal education. Her determination and talent have made her a role model for many in Ghana and beyond.
