Idris Elba To Build Film Studious In Ghana, West Africa. British Actor Idris Elba has opened up that his outfit has started some grounds work to construct ultramodern film studious in West Africa Preferably Ghana and some other countries.
Idris Elba made the revelation when he paid a courtesy call on the President of Ghana, Nana Addo Danquah Akufo on February 3, 2023, at the Jubilee Houe.
The English actor noted that so much can be achieved in the film industry in Africa, but the continent is lacking some basic facilities.
Idris Elba explained that once the film studio is completed in Ghana it is likely to attract some key investors who would be willing to invest in the movie industry and the production works.
āCurrently, we call it West African Studios, but thatās a working title. Weāve been working on this for three or four years to raise a plan that puts a facility at the center of African filmmaking. Thereās a lot for African filmmaking, but the facilities are lacking.ā Idris Elba said as reported by Myjoyonline.com
According to Idris, the leaders in the film sector must institute some measures that will encourage filmmakers to be attracted to Ghana and the other West African sub-region.
He explained that they have appropriate measures to attract filmmakers and they are aware of all that foreign filmmakers want from Ghana.
Idris revealed without appropriate measures and policies Ghana can have enough film studious, but won’t serve its purpose by attracting filmmakers.
