Ramos said his decision to retire from Internation football is an imposition from the Spanish national team coach De La Fuente and that he was ready and willing to contribute to the La Roja.
He says age in itself is just a number and a player’s performance has nothing to do with age. Ramos mentioned players like Messi, Modric, and Pepe who are playing the highest level of football despite their ages.
Sergio Ramos said he accepts the retirement but he is very sad about the way things have ended. That he feels honored to be the most capped Spanish international in history.

In 2005, Sergio Ramos made his debut playing for Sevilla. He represented the Spanish national team in Seven tournaments. He was part of the 2010 La Roja world cup winning squad in South Africa playing an instrumental role.
Despite retiring from International football, he will still play active football with Paris St Germain.
