George Oppong Weah Donates $10,000 To Christian Atsu Family. Liberian president and former Ac Milan attacker George Oppong Weah, according to Ghanaweb, has donated an amount of $10,000 to the family of Christian Atsu after the body of the former Black Stars player arrived in Ghana from Turkey.

This comes after Liberian President Oppong Weah paid tribute to the former Newcastle man Christian Atsu after his demise. Opponng Weath described the passing of Atsu as an Irreplaceable loss to the football community and his good friend and brother.
Oppomg Weah in his tribute said he had known Atsu and followed him during his active days in football.Ā The only Ballon D’or winner from Africa, Oppong Weah, expressed and sent his condolences to the friends and family of the late Christian Atsu.
Weah donation to Atsu was made on behalf of his representative the former Black Stars player, Kwame Ayew.
According to Ghanaweb, Kwame Ayew went to the house and family of Christian Atsu to present the donation. He was accompanied by some members of the Liberian community on Wednesday, February 22, 2023.
Christian Atsu was one of the victims of the Earthquake in Turkey about weeks ago. The former Chelsea and Newcastle attacker who won the best player in the African Cup of Nations in 2015, was located on Saturday, February 18, 2023.
Christian Atsu,31, has left many devatsed. His remains have been flown to Ghana to his family with arrangements underway pending his burial and funeral rights.
Prior to the Unfortunate incident, Atsu was playing professional football with Turkey said Hatayspor. He scored the club’s only goal for them clinching all three points through a freekick.
Atsu’s former Black stars teammates Asamoah Gyan, Sulley Muntari, and some others have all visited the family to sign the book of condolences to the late footballer.
As of now, it is not clear when the former Porto man, Atsu would be laid to rest.
