Sarkodie has taken a swipe at Yvonne Nelson’s controversial memoir.
According the rap star, the movie star’s controversial book titled I Am Not Yvonne Nelson is only selling because of the “negativity” contained in it.
Sarkodie said this in a new song he released, Wednesday, June 28, 2023.
The song titled Try Me was produced by frequent collaborator MOG Beatz, sees Sarkodie singing and rapping, and comes with a lyric video.
“First few hours heard the book is doing well,” Sarkodie observed in the song.
“Who is really shocked cos everybody can tell… It’s not because the book is really good but we living in a world where negativity sells,” he assessed.
“I pray that you get the healing that you need,” he also notes on the song.
He sarcastically congratulated Yvonne for her “strategy” being successful and indicated that he has bought “one copy” of the book and “I’m about to read”.
In I Am Not Yvonne Nelson, the popular actress Yvonne Nelson accuses Sarkodie of impregnating her and asking her to do an abortion. She accuses Nigerian music star Iyanya of cheating on her with movie star Tonto Dikeh. She said her mother has not yet disclosed to her who her real father is and in fact the book is to plead with her father, wherever he is, to come forward because she is in dire need of resolution as she is experiencing, as it were, an identity crisis, which also explains the title of the book – she does not know her real father and surname.
