Charles Taylor Explains Why Inaki Williams Is Not Good Enough To Play For Ghana Black Stars. Former Accra Hearts Of Oak and Asante Kotoko star man, Charles Taylor, has explained why Athletic Bilbao striker Inaki Williams is not good enough to feature for the Ghana Black Stars, per an article on Ghanaweb.com
According to Charles Taylor, Inaki Williams decided to feature for the Black Stars because the Spanish National team was stuck, and was not good enough to play for them and maintain his spot.
It appears Charles Taylor’s assertion about Inaki Williams is true because in 2016 he made his debut for the Spanish National team when he played against Bosnia and Herzegovina under Vincente Del Bosque, since then he failed to make the cut on any call-up.
But, In 2022, Inaki Williams switched Nationality and decided to play for the Ghana Black Stars.
He played three matches at the Qatar 2022 world cup but failed to score a single goal for the Black Stars receiving much criticism from Ghanaians.
Charles Taylor says Inaki Williams is not good enough to play for the Ghana Black Stars but not for the Stars he would be a surplus to requirements elsewhere.
Charles said Ghanaians always want to rely on foreign players but most of these guys are not starters at their respective clubs.
He blamed some journalists for claiming Ghanaians had their problems solved after securing Inaki Williams.
Charles Taylor added that most of those journalists do not have a deep understanding of the game.
āHow can our Black Stars be saved because we have Inaki Williams? Do we have better eyes than the Europeans? His gameplay cannot guarantee us any proper title. If the Spanish thought he was good enough, they would have convinced him and his brother to play for them and not Ghana,” he said in an interview on Kumasi-based Akoma Fm.
Nevertheless, Inaki Williams has seen success with Bilbao and becoming one of the most successful players in the History of Athletic Bilbao in La Liga
