According to the veteran Hiplife star, Ghanaians do not hold on to their own cultural heritage, but focus on the wrong things, unlike Nigerians who push the common agenda together.
He says the Nigerians are now doing and making it better than Ghanaians, even with what Ghanaians had done.
He revealed there is money in music and Nigerians are making it huge meanwhile they, Ghanaians, started the movement.
Reggie Rockstone was reacting to a recent documentary on Hiplife on BBC called Rewind produced by the BBC. The documentary features a host of Ghanaian entertainers Kaumi Eugene, Kidi, M.anifest, Eno, and some others.
Recently, Reggie Rockstone revealed, in an interview, Payola ended the success of the Hiplife genre making others attractive.
Reggie Rockstone also revealed the issue of young people referring to him on social media, especially, Twitter as poor despite his achievements and legacy in the creative industry.
According to Reggie Rockstone, people attract curses on themselves when they say all sorts of things to him, especially, young people.
“People say I am now poor and say all sorts of things to me, especially on Twitter. I am the pioneer of Hiplife. I am the reason Ghana had something unique to hold on to and now the young ones insult me on Twitter.” he said as reported by Myjoyonline.com
Reggie Rocsktone, 58, is a veteran Hiplife artiste. He is often credited as the originator of the sound that blends Hip Hop and indigenous Ghanaian sound, Highlife with extensive usage of the Akan language.
Reggie Rockstone is now married to Dr. Zilla Lilmann. The couple has kids together and has been together since 2001.
